Top 100 intellectuals in the world

Prospect Magazine has a list of the top 100 intellectuals in the world. Michael Ignatieff and - I can barely write this - Naomi Klein are the only Canadians on the list.

It tells us just what sort of list it is when Ms. Klein makes it and Jane Jacobs doesn’t. (Hat tip Grandinite.)

Naomi Klein is an intellectual? In what sense? If someone as vacuous as her can make the list then maybe I have a legitimate shot at it next year!

The blurb at the bottom explains what sort of list it is: a list of prophets - people with followers, not necessarily restrained by anything so mundane as intelligence, or common or moral sense - not intellectuals.
