Tight in the early going

At the moment (5:42 Pacific) the popular vote is evenly split between McCain and Obama. The electoral college vote is heavily Obama as each of the blue states in the North East make their contributions.
Pennsylvania has been called by a couple of networks for Obama without any actual votes having been counted. This is not terrifically surprising but a bit cheap.

They’re basing it on exit polls. Remember that time they called Florida for Gore….
Well, now they have results from downtown Philadelphia where Obama was expected to and is winning huge.
It will be interesting to see how the exit polling stacks up.
