The Ravages of Bush Derangement Syndrome

August 31st, 2008 | Tags: , ,

Andrew Sullivan, who I used to think of as pretty smart and who actually got me blogging, gets sucked into the whole Kos driven “Gov. Palin faked the pregnancy which lead to the birth of Trig, whose Downs Syndrom is being used as a prop by BushHitlerMcCain” bullshit here. But, oopsiee, there seems to be pic of the Palin baby bump here.

Sully, churlishly, concedes defeat with this bit of bitchery, “This seems to put the kibbosh on this, although it would still be good to have official confirmation from the McCain campaign, which should be easy enough to do.”

A simple, “I am really, really sorry to have forgotten what deranged idiots post at Kos and I am ashamed of calling into question your integrity, the parentage of Trig, and the McCain campaign on the basis of utterly unverified speculation just because there is a little piece of Obama’s dangly bits I have not licked quite hard enough yet and I really hate George Bush and I have friends who are Kennedys and they invite me to servants’ day at Hyannisport every two years.” might go some way to repairing to poor man’s reputation.

Or not.

Who cares? He’s in the tank and staying there.

Maybe this shows the genius of the Palin pick—it’s caused the Left to go insane.

I’m sure I’ll be accused of homophobia, but guy men seem to have a lot of issues and attitudes regarding pregnancy. I was once in a work environment which included a gay guy and a very pregnant woman. The women were very interested and sympathetic, and we males were helpful and awkward. The gay guy, meanwhile, practically seethed. Couldn’t really figure it out, but it was pathetic. He once tried to justify it by running his mouth about overpopulation.

What I can’t understand is what, if I understand the madness, her faking pregancy in order to pretend her daughter’s supposed illegitimate child is her own could possibly do to discredit her. Also the rumours about her shotgun wedding being caused by pregnancy. And attempts to find pictures of her in… a bikini.

Because of the hypocrisy!? They actually think conservative christians would vote for Obama if only they know she has worn a bikini and is secretly bringing up her daughter’s baby?

This is weird, weird shiznit. And the reaction is so sexist! I feel so unmoored… I thought that stuff was so bygone. Its been hiding under Progressive Rock, where nobody thought to look.

Great post. The decline of Sully from the glory days of 2001 has been sad to watch.

And here was me thinking the Right plumbed the depths of derangement with Clinton Hatred in 1993-98. Speculations about Vince Foster and Kathleen Willey’s cat look positively balanced next to Trig Truferism.

We all remember how well “here’s my six by five foot butchers-paper flow-chart of the Clinton machinations, papering the walls of my bedsit amidst all the ripped-out Bible pages” worked for the Republicans in 1992, 1996 and 1998, don’t we. As opposed to 1994 when the GOPhers actually ran a positive platform.

Wolfe, my own working theory is that a majority of “left-wing” men don’t really believe all the feminism stuff but learn to parrot it when needed because it gets them laid by women who believe in birth control and reject “no sex outside marriage”.

Mine too Rod. Ann Coulter finds it telling that at least some surveys show more support for abortion among men than women.

Apparently you only count as a real woman who they support (or minority, or gay) if you toe certain ideological lines. Step outside and you’re more than fair game. You’ve betrayed them by succeeding without them – you’re cutting into their turf. I swear, its like they are ideological pimps and the time has come to slap a bitch.

Like Chris Rock said: pro-Roe rallies are a great place to pick up women who won’t say “no” and won’t stay pregnant.

Jay – one “R” in “derangement”.
