Hamas government in Palestine might present less of a problem for Israel than continued pseudo-government by Fatah. When a militia is committed to the destruction of Israel this places Israel in a quandrary re. jurisdiction, law enforcement, etc. When a militia becomes the government and its leader a head of state and it remains committed to the destruction of Israel this is a condition known as "war", something Israel is v. good at. My solution, hand the whole lot back to Jordan and let them sort it out. The requisite brutality to restore order may much more effectively be carried out by an "Arab government" in part because dictatorships have no scruples and their behaviour is of no interest to Western journalists or their anti-semitic audiences.
