The CBC cut to Hockey
No, really. Mid speech.
Dion has just pulled off one of the more remarkable victories in Canadian politics and the CBC has cut to the hockey game.
Which puts this in perspective.
In the real world Dion has just won the leadership of a nearly bankrupt party sitting in Opposition. For all the buzz that’s the place Dion starts.
As I write the Premiership of the Province of Alberta is in the balance. Three candidates and likely over 100,000 voters. The guy who wins is the Premier of the richest and most conservative province in Canada.
Dion has used the word “sustainable” about twenty times in his speech. He’s very green. Flourescent.
The next Premier of Alberta isn’t.
Harper is in the middle. But he’s leaning. And he is not leaning Dion’s way.
About 8:00pm we are going to know who won in Alberta. Which is likely more important.

Looks to me like a day when the hard line was rejected both nationally and in Alberta.
