This is a brilliant media stunt for Harper, all the more so because it’s genuine. The cowboy hats and burger flipping last summer was a disaster because Harper hated it, but talking hockey on TSN is a way he can relate to Canadians without being out of his element.

If I was Harpers media advisor I would be looking for ways of having harper connect to Canadians without having to deal with the spoilt brats of the Parliamentary Press Gallery.

Harper talking about hockey is a pretty normal thing. Lots of normal destroys the “scary” trope. And the bonus is that it is a stick in the eye for the MSM and their arrogant and usually anti-CPC Ottawa bureaus.
