‘Roos run for cover

Deborah Gyapong has the heads up on the CHRC’s dismissal of the complaint against Catholic Insight magazine.

It has obviously dawned on the CHRC that the only hope of saving its s. 13 jurisdiction is to actually pay attention to the Taylor rules having ignored them for years.

Deb is not buying it:

We need a Royal Commission to not only look at the laws governing these bodies and how they have co-opted real human rights but also how the system has become corrupted by ideologues and unaccountable practices. deborah gyapong

I think Deb is on the right track but because some of the activities of the Hate Crimes Unit may very well have been criminal – perjury is not a trivial matter – I would think a one judge judicial review might be more suitable.

We are winning but we will not have won until s. 13 is repealed and the Hate Crimes unit disbanded with any criminals in its midst fired as well as the managers who either encouraged or turned a blind eye toward the improper or criminal activity.

    Like the new look Jay.

This is a decision made by a political court staffed with political ideologues which are under investigation and media scrutiny. Dismissing this and Macleans ( which were both obviously vexacious complaints unfounded in HRC intent ot Taylor guidelines) was simply a political decision based in political survival ethics.

If/when the political pressure is lifted from CHRC they will return to expanding their censorship empire with mor patron NGO ideological purges and prosecutions.

Seein these two recent political backpeddling actions is actually humorous….a little like a snake pretending to be a sheep dog by barking with a less of a hiss.

Jay, there’s an old joke. A man goes to a psychiatrist, and he won’t stop snapping his fingers during the session.

“Why do you keep doing that?” asked the psychiatrist.

“To keep the elephants away,” the man replied.

“But,” said the shrink, “there aren’t any elephants amywhere around here.’

“Works pretty well, eh?” said his patient.

Keep snapping those fingers, Jay. : )

Indeed, we are winning, but we have not yet won. Indeed.

I just spent 30 to 45 minutes searching through past posts on my blog trying to find the one where I said we need a Royal Commission into this. Couldn’t find it, so maybe it was on another blog’s comments that I said it. Anyway, I want to stake a claim that it was my idea before it was Deborah’s. ;-)

In any case, more’s the better!

Louise…we are a work in progress. Step one, get rid of the third person, step two find something attractive.
