Podcasts

I have to admit I am a podcast sceptic if only because I don’t have the patience for the essential linerarity of the spoken word. However,

If only somebody would put together a network of podcasters, organize their shows into some sort of schedule, and then create some way to download the podcasts wirelessly. Hmmm, that sounds familiar. Sort of like radio.

Yup.

I was over at Kevin Grace’s yesterday looking at the equipment for his soon to be launched podcasting enterprise. Kevin has a background in radio and actually knows what good sound needs. (Pop guards apparently….who knew?) Kevin, rightly in my view, thinks part of the podcast problem is cheap mikes and lousy, muddy, sound.

It is an evolving media. And leading the charge is that wily Parliamentary Press Gallery bypassing Canadian PM, Stephen Harper whose pod cast is at the top of the iTunes political podcast heap. (Thanks to Blue Blogging Soapbox.)
