OK my CPC card carrying friends…RESOLUTION P-203

Here is a great chance to pass a CPC policy resolution getting rid of s. 13 of the CHRA.

But be prepared. This is a floor resolution and might not even be voted upon unless Conservatives attending the Policy Convention push.

Modify HRC Jurisdiction

PROPOSED BY VICTORIA AND KELOWNA - LAKE COUNTRY

iii) The Conservative Party supports legislation to remove authority
from the Canadian Human Rights Commission and Tribunal to regulate,
receive, investigate or adjudicate complaints related to Section 13 of
the Canadian Human Rights Act.

Resolutions will be discussed in Rooms 2 and 3 North – Ground Floor, on
Friday November 14, 2008. From 8:30am to 12:00pm.
This is a very important resolution to protect our constitutionally
protected right to freedom of speech, and all Conservative Party members

    It will have to be argued and voted on to get past the amending process in the Justice workshop first before making it to the floor for a final vote in its final version.

    BTW ALL policy resolutions submited by membership that make it through amendment debate are taken to the floor for a final vote….it’s called democratic accommodation…you must have memory hangover from PC and LPC conventions where this process is absent. ;-)

    What we need to do is a mass blog apeal to all CPC members and e-mail all CPC MP’s.

    Yup BCF - I think Peter O’Donnell over at Freedominion has already started on a wording that we can all use asap.
