More Plame Hilarity

Go read Hitchens in Slate.

What does emerge from Hubris is further confirmation of what we knew all along: the extraordinary venom of the interdepartmental rivalry that has characterized this administration. In particular, the bureaucracy at the State Department and the CIA appear to have used the indiscretion of Armitage to revenge themselves on the “neoconservatives” who had been advocating the removal of Saddam Hussein.

The only thing left to do is to drop the increasingly absurd obstruction charges against Scooter Libby and begin the long wait for the left’s apologies and the apologies of their enablers in the media.

A number of people who follow Plame carefully have also suggested an investigation into the runaway Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald’s conduct of the file. Apparently he knew from the go that Novak’s original source was Armitage. But that fact did not fit the evil Bush/Cheney cabal hypothesis so Fitz! went fishing.

Caught a minnow and likely will have to throw him back.

(And when is Jason Leopold going to burn those sources?)
