Now that I have figured out how to configure my top spot (to your left, buy me a beer!) so your link will stay up for a week let the rush begin. I note Kathy over at five feet of fury has already got a fine Muslim site supporting her work. Good stuff!

Meanwhile, as the self-righteous emails exhorting (extorting, whatever) all of us to turn out our lights Saturday, the Hour of Power counter protest is picking up steam and any other energy source it can. My fellow illumination activist, Tim Blair, is aglow with suggestions as to how best to light up your life come Saturday at 8:00PM. Personally, I just remembered I have about a dozen high wattage studio lights I picked up at a garage sale so I’ll be doing my bit to ping the needle come Saturday night.

Update: Illumination activist Tim Blair has a photo from space of his warm up illumination as well as Aussie MSM coverage of the Hour of Power.

Update 2: Hour of Power as Art from SDA our old friend Sean reports:

I’m going on a photo shoot.

Using medium format film.

Which will be developed in environmentally unfriendly chemicals.

And I’ll do this all from the window of my 1990 Ford F-150 truck.

That burns oil.

And that I’ll be happy to leave idling while I’m busy with my camera.

I’ll do all this whilst slurping coffee from a styrofoam cup.

Afterwards I’ll scan the negs and make some prints.

On baby seal skin.

I’d been wondering how he got his blacks that black...soot.

Update#3: The fact is that Canadian Illumination Activists are way funnier than those wussy, tropical, Aussie wannabes. I mean seriously, how many 2.5 HP Briggs and Stratton snowblowers are there in Oz? But my favorite Hour of Power Canadian response:

“Tire fire.”

Kathy gets a few dollars. The “religion of peace” gets a link from the “flagrantly islamophobic”. I get to indulge in some silliness. How much further can $5.21 go?

What are you stats, Jay? Kathy’s link says it’s $10. What kind of exposure would I get for $5?

    Just ‘cuz I’m cheap.

Suzanne, not anything like Kathy’s…she is a traffic machine!

Call it 500 uniques a day with some days going to 1500.

I am by no means a global warmist or anything, but I don’t quite understand the point behind wanting to counter the lights-off deal. Especially by wasting your own money by needless energy guzzling, or worse by running vehicles for no reason! That makes those of us with reasonable postitions on the global warming hysteria look completely unreasonable. Just because climate change is not proven doesn’t mean pollution deosn’t exist.

Oh Crap I spelled Currie – Curry in my message, oh well same diff;) Hey warn your patrons the fee is in US dollars!

I understand completely the desire to counter the lights off deal. It’s fun and hopefully will make David Suzuki cry.
