Jason Kenny Gets It
“Like many Canadians, I am deeply concerned about allegations of the incitement to hatred and violence at recent protests across Canada.”Which is to the point. By all means demonstrate but recognize the basic fact that if you express support for Hamas or Hezbollah you are complicit with profoundly anti-Semitic organizations.“It is shocking to think that flags of banned terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah are being flown in the streets of Canadian cities. The ideals these terrorist organizations preach are abhorrent to the fundamental values of the Canadian people and of all civilized peoples: freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.”
“The open incitement of hatred has absolutely no place in Canadian society. We offer our condolences to all innocent victims of armed conflict and to those affected by repeated acts of terror. We remain vigilant in upholding fundamental Canadian values.” statement

From the Economist, a opinion piece critical of Israel but has this to say also;
“Israel’s critics may have to ask themselves some tough questions too. Lives cannot be weighed and counted like groceries. But many Jews around the world protest that Israel is being held to a higher standard than the one demanded of many other countries, and to some extent they are right.
Some of the hypocrisy in the Arab world is unspeakable. Syria, for example, is one country to accuse Israel of “genocide”. But in 1982, when Syria’s own Muslim Brotherhood rebelled in the Syrian city of Hama, the regime responded by shelling the city indiscriminately for three weeks, killing about 20,000 or 30,000 civilians. In Gaza Israel has killed 1,000 people. It is not playing by Hama rules, let alone committing genocide. Russia’s onslaught on the Chechen city of Grozny in the mid-1990s is reckoned to have killed some 20,000 civilians. As for Hamas itself, it deliberately murdered hundreds of Israeli civilians in buses and restaurants in the intifada of 2001-03.
Do as you would be done by
Of course, people are entitled to expect a Westernised democracy such as Israel to behave better than Syria, Russia or the violent Islamists of Hamas. But they are not entitled to hold Israel to a standard they do not observe themselves”

You guys are a hoot, you claim that the CJC exposed nothing and that others exposed the hatred in the pro Hamas rallies. Funny though , Jason Kenny only sent out this statement AFTER the CJC didnt really expose the hatred in the streets. God give me strength

Mordechai, Ezra is maintaining that the CJC did not send videographers as you claimed on another thread:
“The CJC didn’t expose anything. Their exposure consists of republishing photos and videos taken by others—even a photo taken from my website. The CJC didn’t send out camera crews; the CJC didn’t do a damn thing other than hide under their desks. ezra.
In actual fact the righty blogosphere was a) at the verious rallies, b) all over this story, c) miles out front of the CJC.
I don’t have any particular animus against the CJC - I would just like to see them being rather more forthright in opposing real, dangerous, anti-Semitism.

Mordechai put a sock in it, cheezus.

Further to Jay’s point, the CJC grabbed portions of my video of the Toronto Hate-Fest from Youtube and included it in their johnny-come-lately exposure of the already-exposed.
They did not ask my permission, they did not credit me, they did not pay me.

Isnt youtube in the public domain…and btw I heard CJC on the radio they in fact did send videographers to all the rallies.

Jason kenney is the minister of censorship. This guy is an utter loud mouthed embarassment to Canada and the conservative government. In the last few weeks he has repeatedly engaged in stupid stunts which are no longer allowing him to fly under the radar like the rest of the conserrvative cronies, people are pissed. I don’t like Ignatieff either but this Kenney joker is tearing the very fabric of canadian society apart, get this censor out of office now.

Wow, Jake, nice to have you here…read a bit.
Kenny may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but he gets the difference between censorship and incitement. He may not draw the line where I would; but he has rather better information.
Were it up to me, if you wave the Hamas or Hezbollah flags you and your family have just won a ticket back home unless – for the moment – you are actually a Canadian citizen. But, hey, I would not permit immigration from Islamic countries without complete, CSIS level vetting so I am not proposing anything too radical here.
