Iraq Elections
I’ve been following the Iraq elections at Iraq the Model/PJMedia. Good, if superficial coverage. One thing I like is that, unlike MSM, the people writing here feel no need to extrapolate what they are seeing in their various locations in Iraq to other locations. They report what they see and let the reader draw his or her own conclusions.
It looks as if these elections have gone pretty well with very little violence. At a guess they will bing the Sunni minority further into the poltical process; but they are not going to solve the fact that the Sunnis are a minority.
Right now would be a good time for Canada to look at helping out in a peacekeeping capacity in Iraq. But no worries about that happening – Harper saw a poll or something and has backed off any thought of Canada having anything at all to offer in Iraq.

Why spend money or take risks when we can do nothing, adopt a sanctimoneous expression and take credit for Iraqi democracy down the line? The Canadian way!

sigh
I haven’t any response to offer to such criticism.
