Ipods, Zune and Smart Cars

As some of you realize I have been a bit thwarted on the Canadian Bullet front. I am working on getting around the glitches which made this potentially useful service something of a server killer. Live and learn.

However, in the course of working out how to do this I have a few new aggregators which you may enjoy.

If you are looking for iPod news you can go to my iPod news blog. Interestingly, engadget reports that iPod is looking at a larger screen, balck on white, high contrast ebook reading capacity on a larger screen…Hmmm. Combine that with wifi and you’re beginning to look at the end of dead tree newspapers.

If you are looking for information about SmartCars you can find up to the minute SmartCar news here. Victoria is Canada’s SmartCar capital with hundreds on the road out of a relatively small vehicle population. Amazingly the SmartCar is not widely available in the US because of emissions regulations which don’t take into account actual mileage. Sigh.

And if you are intrigued as I am about what Microsoft is touting as the iPod killer you can find Zune news at my Zune news blog. At the moment I have no idea what MS is actually up to but it did let Billboard magazine in on the fact the new Zune machine will be wifi enabled.

Jay, I don’t understand why you put so much effort into aggregating other people’s content when you could be generating your own. It’s not like you’re short on skill.

Good question Sean…partially it is because I am interested in the subjects. but I am also intrigued with how the great mass of online material is going to evolve overtime.

My sense is that aggregators - of some sort - will be used by a lot of people to get to the information they want. And those, in turn will require editors as well as writers.

Learning how that works is fun.

Exactly what aggregators do I need beyond Google News? Enter keywords, get notifications on topics I’ve subscribed to, ’nuff said.
