Harper whacks another one out of the park

“We want to find out why this United Nations post was attacked and also why it remained manned during what is now, more or less, a war during obvious danger to these individuals,” he told reporters.

Asked about UN head Kofi Annan’s statement suggesting Israel had targeted the outpost, Harper said: “I certainly doubt that to be the case.”

It sure is nice to have a Prime Minister who does not drink the UN Kool Aid and is not tethered to the Axworthian paradigm in foreign affairs.

Whether or not this is smart politically is a whole other question; but if Harper keeps this up I know I will be getting off the fence, holding my nose as to the social views of my local CPC candidate, and working to get Harper his majority. It is about time Canada became an honest broker.

How honest? Did Harper get a briefing two weeks ago on where the Canadians soldiers were? Did he order them out? Is he not the controlling head of our Forces?

Sure the UN has to answer as Harper demands as does Israel as I trust it will through its investigation (and I do not expect that to be glowing but I expect Israel will admit their errors). But what did Harper do? Are there others in a similar situation who should be pulled out now?

    My sentiments exactly.
It’s tough out there for a libertarian Quebec Jew.

IF you go by the latest Decima poll.. many Canadians are having 2nd thoughts over this governments attitude internationally.. as well as I dont doubt domestically. You might want to hold off on the majority talk for now… even the Tory insiders interviewd in the Globe and Mail sound rather despondent.
