I'd guess that alcohol or drugs may have been a factor, but perhaps she was just a nervous woman and didn't use good sense when trying to find her "lost" boyfriend. He should have avoided the patrolling vehicle better perhaps too. It reminded me a bit of the old woman who ran over herself to death last Summer. She hit something, got out to check, and forgot to put in in park. She backed over herself. How sad.
