Mike Brock explains our horrendous position:
It’s the ultimate flaw in socialism. When the well-being of the collective is valued over the individual, the very value of the individual is decreased implicitly. The body politic justifies extermination of problematic or dangerous expression of ideas on the grounds that doing so serves “the common good”. This fundamentally destroys the cultural virtue of free speech, and undermines the value of democracy itself. Democracy is not a means by which to provide for free speech.
