Perhaps if there were more supporters of individual liberty than supporters of social conservatism in the CPC tent, Harper might throw the other way.

This decision, as you note, is not likely to make the CPC any more attractive . On the other hand, it seems to me you could fit all the voters who value individualism into a large beer hall.

To the point, I couldn’t agree more - what an asinine waste of resources in an increasingly scary world.

And as an evil hunter, I too am becoming weary of the CPC’s mushy - middling stance on too many of the things that I hold dear - but damn, the alternatives are so much worse….a Kubayashi Muru fer sure…..

Geeze, this is like Dumb and Dumber. Had to say which government is which.

Unfortunately, as PJ O’Rourke has said, the only way the so-called “War on Drugs” will end is if liberals will allow the US to carpet bomb Columbia and Peru, or for conservatives to allow for drugs to be legalized. Neither is going to happen.

Sad to see the US, in the middle (or the start anyway) of a war on true terror, spend resources on sending a guy to jail for selling seeds (or a comedian such as Tommy Chong for selling a pipe).

Priorities, people.
