Doh!….
Qais Abu Leila, a member of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation, said the Hizbullah rocket attacks had highlighted the futility of Palestinian attempt to build home-made rockets. “Now it is finally clear to everyone that these rockets do more damage to Palestinians than Israelis,” he said.

There is no shortage of intelligence in the Palestinian Authority. But the culture of resistance has kept that intelligence in a bunker. The gunmen don’t want to hear that their tactics are causing more grief for the Palis than the Israelis. After all, Hamas and Hezbollah are not in the peace business - they are in the terror business.
Beating the hell out of both groups is pretty much the only way that the inherent intelligence of the Palestinians will be allowed to work for peace rather than some weird fantasy of Israel’s elimination.
Too bad so many poeple had to die and be injured for this point to be made.
Update: it will be interesting to see what the commentors over at the Zerb’s make of this. It has not been a good war for the left so far.

It’s a shame that, with your last paragraph, you have to turn your posts into a stab at the phantom left. In my opinion, it reduces your credibility on what was otherwise sage commentary. It seems that you believe that the left wants these wars to go badly — which is not true. In truth, it makes you look as though you secretly delight in these wars yourself for the equal but opposite reason. But that’s not true either, is it?
