Brilliant!

Mark Bourrie has been handed the Mr. K archive…(hey, Nick, send it to me!) Meanwhile, an anonymous commentor at Mark’s blog has been reading the wussy’s future brain:

WK = A hostile witness
DC = Defence Counsel for MB

WK: You want answers?
DC: I think I’m entitled to them.
WK: You want answers?
DC: I want the truth!
WK: You can’t handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has politicians, and those politicians have to be guarded by men with columns. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, Coyne? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Martin and you curse the Post. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Martin’s defeat, while tragic, probably saved the Party. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves the party. You don’t want the truth because deep down, in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want me on that column. You need me on that column. We use words like honor, code, loyalty… We use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it! I would rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a keyboard and stand a post. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to!
DC: Did you recommend Guite?
WK: (quietly) I did the job you sent me to do.
DC: Did you recommend Guite?
WK: You’re goddamn right I did!!

The problem here is the impossibleity of reducing a man to a laughingstock when for him that would be a promotion.
