Boissoin’s Festive Defender

While it is difficult to support Boissoin’s right to spew his misguided and vitriolic thoughts, support his right, we must.

If Boissoin was no longer able to share his views, then who might be next in also having their freedom of expression limited. Traditionally, the LGBT community’s freedom has been repressed by society and its laws.

Plus, it is far better that Boissoin expose his views than have them pushed underground. Under the glaring light of public scrutiny, his ideas will most likely wither and die. Gilles Marchildon egale canada via ezra

The best part of the Boissoin verdict is the fact Boissoin has been order to appologize for his feeble anti-gay reading of the Bible. This is a very nearly perfect replica of the pleasures of the Chinese Cultural Revolution in which enemies of the people were invited to recant by way of self-criticism.

What is brilliant about this is how liberty loving Canadians – from fundys to faggots – are lining up in favour of free speech and against the governmental regulation of speech. Soon the Lying Jackal, the Dead Sock and Ian Fine will be the only people left who are not on the payroll but support HRCs regulating speech. Ooops, Fine is on the payroll.

This fight is far from over given the cowardice Harper, Nicolson and the CPC have shown in the face of the sheer corruption of the CHRC. But the beginning is over and now it is just a matter of rubbing Harper’s nose in it until he tells Nicolson to tell his bureaucrats to a) switch sides in the Lemire constitutional challenge, b) draft a three line bill deleting s. 13 from the CHRA, c) start looking for a judge to head the judicial inquiry into the abuses, perjury and other malfeasance of the “hate crimes” section of the CHRC since 2001.

Here’s the deal, Steve, you were elected to govern not to simply say yes to the bureaucrats in hopes they might take you seriously. If we see you governing we might vote for you, if not, well staying home is an option or voting for a candidate who supports the abolition of s. 13 is another.

Within each dogmatic HRC defender beats the heart of a Stalinist speech code commissar.

We really have to honestly ask what the fXXk makes these self styled statist Gnostics think rehashed soviet control systems will do to further the freedom which motivated our social evolution? They were abysmally end-goal deficient with state interventionism the first time round in Russia and China, are these fabian soviets so arrogant they think it will work any better the second time around just because they are at the switches?

We (Canadians) have really been far too polite and accommodating to extremist zealots, disruptive activists, fallible ideologues and perpetually angry axe grinders who push some really bad ideas into the political agenda.

As a result of our accommodation to ideologically errant zealots driving social engineering agendas, Canada’s post war fate has been as a political laboratory for dangerous experiments gone horribly wrong.

In a more civilly self-assured age, where Liberal democracy was proud and protective of the freedoms it had wrought, morbid ideologues were socially marginalized and kept well away from the levers of authority. I’m sure in a more civilly mature era lying jackal officials and agitators were treated to a hot tar bath, a free suit of poultry down and a splinter-administering rail ride out of the jurisdiction.

I think the time has come again for that civil ethic to re-establish reason and civility to the political/public stage and to re-instill a healthy respect for public anger in the ranks of “officialdom”.

Hello WL Mackenzie Redux! I would “block and copy” your entire post but – why bother? You make your valid points so very effectively that reading them once should suffice for any sentient being. Absolutely brilliant, WL Mackenzie Redux. Thank you!
