Baby, it’s cold outside…

Well not here in beautiful Oak Bay where it is basically Spring, however;

North America has the most snowcover in 50 years, with places like Wisconsin the highest since record-keeping began. Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile—the list goes on and on.

No more than anecdotal evidence, to be sure. But now, that evidence has been supplanted by hard scientific fact. All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA’s GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously.

A compiled list of all the sources can be seen here. The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C—a value large enough to wipe out nearly all the warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year’s time. For all four sources, it’s the single fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down. daily tech

No doubt the “climate scientists” will piously suggest that this radical cooling is just the sort of thing you would expect from “climate change” and it is past time to jail the politicians who disagree with them.

Crazy people who are a tiny bit skeptical about man-made global warming are tempted to note that the big yellow ball of gas which rises in the morning and sets at night may be dimming just a bit. Maybe 1%. And the really wacky, after a few drinks, are known to suggest that this – and not the bubble in the tonic – may have slightly more to do with world temperatures than greenhouse effects. Fortunately for nitwits in the UN and the BC and California governments, these people can safely be dismissed as cranks. And, the colder it gets the crankier they will appear because the science is settled, consensuses is clear, Algore is a Prophet and people who disagree should spend some time in the cooler.

    I smell a 50 seats moment ;) Can we mark today as they day you call it for global cooling?

    Or, are you just making the point that there are many factors involved in long term changes and short term changes.

    Oh, it will take more than one winter to undermine this pseudo-scientific Nicene Creed. Look for the faithful to camp out in the freezing cold on Parliament Hill and chant over and over: “Weather is not Climate!” They will vow to stay until we “completely change our way of doing things”, but eventually they will all get frostbite and normal programming will be resumed.

    According to NASA scientists we are in fact entering a climate cooling cycle with the recent solar activity subsiding.

    The funniest thing is when some scientist says “our models show…”.

    Well, yes, I’m sure one of them DOES show whatever he or she is speaking about. The other models, which don’t say that, or worse, which contradict, are somehow forgotten. Until, that is, they show whatever the scientist wants to show this time. Rinse. Repeat.

    Very much like the psychics in the “National Enquirer”. You make a hundred predictions, one of them will kinda come true someday.

    “not the bubble in the tonic”-very clever writing.
