At some happy point intercepted piracy attempts will lead to the deaths of most of the pirates. Which will deter more pirates.
I know, crazy talk because these are poor pirates. Dark skinned pirates. Possibly Muslim pirates. the sort of people Western white guilt mongers cannot possibly cuddle enough.
Shooting them and hanging them will have to be left to our dusky allies in India.

As long as the transnationalist utopians are in charge of criminal law, justice and penal systems, it’s best you keep a gun handy to deal with the abundant banditry which falls through the gaping cracks in their “justice” rationale.
