Joseph C. Ben-Ami who is a very smart guy writes:

If there’s one thing conservative politicians in Canada should have learned by now it’s that you can’t make friends of your enemies by making enemies of your friends, which is why the attitude of the Conservative Party toward conservatives is so baffling. The latest example of this mind-set is found in spokesman Ryan Sparrow’s characterization of small-c conservatives as just another group of “stakeholders” with whom his party, and by extension the government, must contend.

The term “stakeholder” is a politically correct euphemism for “special interest group”. joseph ben-ami

As the CPC gathers for its policy conference in Winnipeg this weekend they would be wise to mark Ben-Ami’s words carefully.

Here are a few more:

Influential conservatives outside the party are beginning to speak out too. Commentators such as John Williamson, Gerry Nicholls, Link Byfield, David Warren and others (dare I count myself among such an illustrious and expanding group?) have been writing about the Conservative Party’s precipitous flight from conservatism with increasing vigour. Add to the list all those who aren’t in the public eye, and the number of conservative opinion-makers and activists annoyed with the Conservative Party becomes ominously large.joseph ben-ami

You lose friends by ignoring them.

(Meanwhile, the Dawg will be in the house and it would be a good thing for conference attendees to scritch him behind the ears. It will be interesting to see his take on the festivities.)

Oh great – Dawg will be there in full marxist regale singing (the Internale) along with other Lib. backroom boys.

Where does he find the time when he is not banning trolls (=those that disagree).

I wonder who is paying his admission and travel or has he been a sleeping Dawg/agent all along?

    Count me in as well.

Canada didn’t vote for the Liberals. . .but we got them anyway.

All these “the conservative party believes” amendments . . . well, obviously they don’t believe or they would keep the ‘will’ language. Posers is what they are.

I’m not ashamed to say I voted Libertarian in October and I can’t see myself voting CPC in the future either.

    Cheers,
    lance
