Ezra Levant reports receiving a libel notice from Lucy Warman’s lawyer. Who just happens to be the liar Kinsella’s lawyer of choice.

Well worth reading the letter - which Ezra characterizes as a “letter to the editor” – as it suggests that Lucy Warman is prepared to fight on the “90sareover” comments vis a vis Senator Cools. Ezra doesn’t think much of Warman’s willingness to fight on the issue, “I’ll bet you a dollar this subject doesn’t find its way into any suit against me, either.”

We’ll see when the pleadings are filed. As I have said before, the pleadings will frame the discovery and the discovery may very well be the end of the CHRC in any form. Nbob has rightly pointed out that discovery is confidential unless the material is used in Court…which will make for a very interesting trial.

It will be particularly interesting to learn more about Lucy’s activities during the time he worked for the Commission, who supervised those activities and the basis upon which he left the Commission.

After reading the link and reading what he deems “Libel” against him I’d say Ezra is in for a slam dunk WIN and awarded cost for wasting his time with Malicious Litigation. The HRC documents that I’ve read have stated he did indeed partake of what Ezra has written. Will he be filing a libel suit against the HRC, their transcripts counter all his libel claims and in fact validate Ezra’s OPINION.

I’d lose my trade license if I were to constantly threaten people, it appears to be an abuse of power. To repetitively threaten Conservative Bloggers with Libel Suits for expressing their OPINION is just another example of how far the left will go to silence any voice that doesn’t mirror theirs.

I’m looking forward to the information that will be available once the Discovery is finished and the documents are available for public access.

Warman and his history with the HRC would make for a great piece for an Investigative Journalist and is a sound basis for a book.

I posted the following at Ezra’s yesterday, but got no response.

“One slightly alarming piece of news I read (on bigcitylib) was that Rogers no longer have the logs relating to Warman’s er, alleged, role in the Senator Cools/’90sareover’ affair. A lawyer (nbob) posted to the effect that Warman would only have to assert that the suggestion was defamatory (easy to do), and that is up to the defendant to prove that it is true. This would obviously be impossible if the logs were missing. Warman could claim that the data used by FreeDominion had been tampered with, and without the original logs this could not be refuted. As a result he could win by default, merely on this quirk of the law.
As I said over at BCL, what I don’t know of Canadian law could fill libraries, so is there anyone out there who can say a) if it is accepted that the logs are really missing, and b) what the law says in this situation?
Also, was Warman working at the HRC at the time? If so, do they have logs?
I hate to think this could be the bastard’s get out of jail card.”

The fact that the lefties were obviously gleeful that the logs were apparently missing, and that the HRC had resisted their disclosure, speaks volumes about who is really speaking the truth.
