Civil War??

The sounds of exploding grenades and automatic weapons fire echoed across Gaza City as gunbattles raged through the night, witnesses said. But there were no casualties reported in either the bomb blast or the fighting.

The clashes are the worst among Palestinians since the Islamist Hamas group rose to power a year ago, unseating President Mahmoud Abbas’s once dominant Fatah. Efforts to forge a unity government between the two have so far failed. Reuters

It would be hard to find a group of people more committed to stupid violence than the Palestinians. Not even the Shi’ites in Iraq are willing to put up with this nonsense and are actively telling the last 20,000 Palis in Baghdad to pack up or be slaughtered.

The tragedy of the Palestinians lies in the fact they have been mislead by the United nations, used as pawns by assorted Arab governments, abused by the Troll of Ramallah ^tm,, ruined by Hamas and isolated by the Israelis. As their only reactions seem to be whining, shooting, blowing themselves up  (and breeding) it is little wonder that these people are hated throughout the Middle East.

It would be a great blessing if the Palis could, somehow, manage to find a realist rather than a romantic or a crook or a religious zealot to lead them. However, sadly, I suspect it is going to take a full scale civil war before such leadership can emerge. Right now, a moderate or a realist is likely to be shot in his bed.
